What's the show about?
Punch and Judy are done with their villain boss Mr Satan; his terrible pay, his zero holidays, his absolutely terrible disguises.
So they hatch a plan. A chaotic, slightly sausage-based, very Punch-and-Judy sort of plan to earn enough for the summer holiday they deserve.
Mr Satan, naturally, has other ideas!
What follows is two acts of proper panto - slapstick, shouting, audience participation, a crocodile with opinions about sausages, a clown who answers his banana phone mid-scene, and two seagulls that we genuinely cannot explain without spoiling it.
The kids in the audience have a secret mission. We cannot tell you what it is. They should come ready to be loud. Adults are considerably less reliable at this task. 😂
This is our very first AFFORDABLE show as a brand new Bradford community theatre company. We wrote it ourselves, we made the props ourselves, and we cannot wait to share it with you.

Got questions? We hopefully have the answers!
Q: Is it suitable for young children? Absolutely! We'd suggest ages 4 and up, but there is no age limit. It's proper panto so there's audience participation, some slapstick noise, and a villain who's pantomime-scary rather than actually scary. Kids who love joining in will absolutely love it.
Q: Is the venue accessible? Little Horton Social Cycling Club is a ground floor venue. There are no steps in to the venue If you have specific accessibility needs, please email us at wishuponastageyorkshire@gmail.com before booking and we'll make sure everything is sorted for you.
Q: What if I need to cancel? Life happens! Just drop us an email and we'll do our best to help. If you can give us a few days' notice we can usually offer an alternative night or a refund. Just talk to us.
Q: I've emailed but haven't heard back - what do I do? Check your junk folder first (wishuponastageyorkshire@gmail.com sometimes lands there). If nothing after 48 hours, try messaging us on Facebook - we'll spot it there. We are all volunteers but we reply to everything, we promise
Who are Wish Upon A Stage?
A group of friends had an idea: to make proper panto that doesn't cost an arm & a leg for the family to enjoy.
They came together with their skills, their time and and idea and in 2025, Wish Upon A Stage was born!
Wish Upon a Stage is a brand new Bradford community theatre company, started because we believe a proper panto night shouldn't cost a family a fortune. We're six friends — performers, writers, prop-makers, and one person who has built a crocodile puppet from scratch. This show is our first. We're equal parts terrified and thrilled.
Come and be part of show number one. 🙏
